Plant and Animal Systems

My name is Beth Ann Melton,

Plant and Animal Systems instructor at ACE.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology,
a Masters in Agricultural Education, both from Clemson University.

I have six years of teaching experience, this is my second year at ACE.

The Plant and Animal Systems program at ACE concentrates on the Plant and Animal Systems Pathway and takes 2 years to be a completer.

The courses for next year include Ag Science, Small Animal Care, Crop Production, Introduction to Horticulture, Wildlife Management, Introduction to Veterinary Science, and Farm Animal Production.

A background in agriculture prepares students for careers in almost any field.

Students learn mainly from hands-on experience by utilizing our facilities:

barn, pasture, greenhouse, shade house, pond, garden, and shop.

Students also participate in the school's FFA chapter by doing community service and taking part in related competitions across the state.
